The Rainbow At The End

Picture
Sometimes a journey fraught with storms is worth it for the tiny bit of sunshine at the end that signals hope to the wary traveler.

Life is not always what we want it to be, but overcoming struggles, depression, and seemingly crushing defeats shows us that we can all be winners, no matter how small the victory.

Uncertainty

Picture

A Tempest rages in my Soul
The skies are dark and gray,
A Nightmare plagues my every Dream
          Thoughts left in disarray.

The Fear of all that lies ahead
The Pain of times gone past,
To look beyond the darkened bounds
          Afraid these thoughts will last.

And yet I wonder where I'll be
          Tomorrow from today.
Will I still be the same old me
          To drown and slip away?

          Or maybe it is possible
A Queen of Fate I'll be,
I guess I will just have to wait
For Life to let me see.

Redemption

Picture

The irreverent demons of ponderance immerse thy spirit,
leaving behind the morose scent of chaos
in the deepest abyss of severed reason.
Desires take flight upon the grotesque wings
of insidious harpies who devour the joyful symphony of hearts
that blessedness assures with peaceful rapture.

Foulness of the alabaster sleep now corrupts
entangled and dread hopes of the living
in wretched claws of shameful sorrow
never more to rise or gaze upon the resplendent stars,
But light that enters before the shadows unite
bathes eternal in the harmony of rosy redemption.

A New Day

Picture

          The Darkness withers
          And morning is nigh,
          Oppressed no more
          I face the sky.

          The dawn is bright
          And hope is new
          The future awaits
          Like morning dew.
