Climb Every Mountain

I hope that everyone celebrating holidays at this time of year are having happy ones. I have been busy writing, celebrating and yes, I have even been down the road of sickness the past few weeks. As 2016 comes to a close, I get busy with household issues, but creativity is ever on my mind and so I continue to progress along my path.

Please remember that there are many authors waiting for you open seals behind which stories wait for your hungry eyes to consume them; poets wait for you to drown in verses of linguistic dreams; and visual artists are sculpting, drawing, painting, and digitally forming pieces and scenes to speak to your inner being. Please go to museums, spend hours in the library, go see a movie that moves you emotionally or thrills your senses. Open your mind and imagination to vivid detail! Usher in the new year with anticipation and do not let the negativity in the world drag you down, Fight to reach the pinnacle of your mountain of achievement--I will be waiting there at the top with my pen in hand, continuing to expand the tales I am fortunate enough to let grow.

"We are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded with a sleep."

~William Shakespeare

Dreamer

I close my eyes: Into the breach!
What lessons will my visions teach?
A lover's eyes...A foe's revenge...
A fall from which I can't ascend.

A memory so sharp and clear
Its trace shall never disappear;
A terror of the greatest size
It makes me open up my eyes--quite wide!

And whether not I smile, or scream, or weep;
I'm always drawn back to the realm of Sleep--
The mistress of my sacred brain
Without her I would go insane!

Alas, she is the potion of my rest
For good or ill, am I dually blest.
