Sometimes we lose control and feel ourselves falling into a chasm or coming apart. It is important to pay attention to our personal feelings and how they affect us and those we love. Some people get counseling, some take medicine, and some are fortunate enough to handle the stress of life through meditation and relaxation, while others need all of these remedies working together. Take care of you, or you can't take care of anything, or anyone else.

Disintegration

I--left pieces on the floor

Got up without them--moved on

Over there--other pieces--abandoned

Too warped to fit--back into place

Holes dot my soul--like a sieve

It gets in--runs through me

No filters--no barriers left

Riddling bones--breath--my brain.

Calendars to unseal with anticipation
Fireworks sparked with rekindled kisses
And dominoes falling in waves of genuflection

Out with Summer, in with Fall!

Autumn

Air blows crisp as apples gathered for cider
While cinnamon kisses rise on bonfires
Bright wardrobes descend, blanketing green
Time dons shifting masks to stage a new scene
Gaia's symphony treats, transforming its tune
Beneath shadowy tricks of the Harvest Moon.

Rona perused the closet and chose a lovely dark brown sugar skin to slip into. Jazz, dancing, and dinner in New Orleans required flair. She accessorized with a red dress, heels, and red lips to conceal any errant blood spatter. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Danielle Grace was born in Washington, D.C. In addition to being a novelist, Grace is also a poet and entrepreneur. Grace holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and resides in the state of Maryland with her family. As the child of a federal police officer and a Speech Pathologist in the public school systems of Washington, D.C. and the outer suburbs of Maryland, she was raised to be fair in her treatment of all people and inquisitive about the world around her.
